Matt Kennedy joined Banks Street Partners in 2014. In his current role as Director, Matt works closely with financial institutions and financial technology companies executing M&A transactions and capital raises by providing situation-specific guidance, diligence coordination, financial modeling, and other required tasks. During his time at BSP, Matt has executed buy-side M&A, sell-side M&A, branch sale, branch purchase and capital raise transactions across numerous states. As part of the aforementioned transactions, Matt has performed stock valuations and provided independent fairness opinions. He also holds designations in series 7, 63, and 79.
Matt co-leads Banks Street Partners' financial technology practice and routinely advises financial technology companies on valuations, capital raises and M&A transactions. In addition, Matt leverages his banking industry knowledge and contacts to serve as a trusted connector between the financial services and financial technology industries.
Prior to joining Banks Street Partners, Matt was a Senior Financial Analyst at Bank of America supporting the Retail Distribution line of business' branch divestiture work stream from initial marketing through deal closing. In addition, Matt worked with the Banking Center Strategy team providing financial analysis on market plans for cities across the United States. Previously, Matt worked on the Customer Segments Controller and SEC Reporting teams during a two-year rotational program at Bank of America.
Matt graduated Magna Cum Laude from Clemson University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Matt is also a CFA® charterholder. Matt and his wife, Holly, live in Charlotte with their one-year-old son, Jack. In his spare time, Matt enjoys working out, golfing and playing fantasy football.
